About
What is Miigwetch?
Miigwetch is Anishinaabemowin for Thank You.
More than just a word, it’s an expression of gratitude, respect, and relationship.

At Miigwetch Designs, this word guides everything we do—from how we bead, to how we share, to how we connect.

Meet Amy
Amy is the founder of Miigwetch Designs. As an Indigenous queer artist, she infuses every piece with cultural symbolism, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns that honor her heritage and identities. Her work ranges from elegant seed bead jewelry to striking peyote stitch designs, as well as stickers and clothing—each creation a wearable work of art.
For Amy, beading is more than craft—it is a way to reconnect with nature, spirit, and community. Through every stitch, she carries forward traditions that inspire her life and practice, while also weaving connections with those who wear and support her work.
Miigwetch Designs is a celebration of gratitude, creativity, and cultural resilience. With each piece, Amy shares not only beauty, but also a story of identity, resistance, and belonging.
Amy hand makes all designs from scratch using the skills and energy she learned from my Aunties and ancestors.
